Risk Analysis

It is essential that plant operatives and engineers have the necessary skills to make better decisions regarding the analysis and management of risks. Topics covered include risk environment, understanding the human aspects to risk assessment, dealing with uncertainty, quantitative methods and qualitative assessment for risk management.

Process Isolation

Plant isolation and reinstatement requires high standards of isolation and rigorous management to prevent failures during the process.

Failures during the isolation and reinstatement process of plant can cause loss-of-containment incidents which may lead to major accidents.

The PRT Process Isolation course provides basic knowledge regarding the scope of isolations and de-isolations at a work site. Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand isolations and the various roles and responsibilities of individuals

  • Understand the importance of following safe systems of work

  • Understand employer and employee requirements within the scope

  • Appreciate the importance of human factors in safe isolations

  • Correctly follow the isolation and reinstatement of plant process standards

Risk Assessment

Our associate will provide an introduction to Risk Assessment putting it into context for your organisation.  On completion of the course your employees should:

  • Understand the importance of risk assessments.

Lock out - Tag out

This Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) course outlines the health and safety hazards and risks that LOTO helps to control, and how the principles of LOTO should be applied to risk assessments. It also explains the legal duties of employers to provide a safe working environment so far as is reasonably practicable and the responsibilities that employees have in ensuring their own safety and the safety of others. The course also details each of the seven steps involved in a LOTO procedure, including everyone’s roles and responsibilities.

Confined Space Entry

It is crucial that your workers have a good understanding of their responsibilities while working in confined spaces and handling combustible materials. PRT’s Confined Spaces course gives your team a general overview of confined spaces, strategies for controlling hazards, examples of confined and lockout spaces, and the roles of confined space workers.

Permit to Work

This course will explain the purpose of permit-to-work systems and what type of high risk activities may require them. It covers what sections a permit should contain, who has the responsibility for preparing them, and the duties of everyone who will need to carry out work covered by a permit. On completion of the course, you will understand how to prepare a permit, or how to follow it if your workplace receives one, so you can ensure everyone carries out high risk work safely.
